Christmas Tree Farmer Finds Success

Chris Nicholson was looking for a way to promote his Christmas tree farm on the popular social networking site, YouTube.  He had discovered, as many businesses do, that social networking sites aren’t just for kids, and that YouTube holds immense marketing power for small or local businesses.

Just before Christmas, Chris wanted to launch a video on YouTube to tell folks about the beautiful Hidden Pond Tree Farm located just 45 minutes west of Manhattan.

While YouTube video is fabulous marketing tool, it could not convey in just under 3 minutes – all that Hidden Pond Tree Farm had to offer.

But YouTube does have its limitations. For instance, it’s really hard to give potential customers directions in a YouTube video, or go into detail about the farm’s organic growing methods.

The solution was easy – just point viewers to the farm’s website at the end of the video. But the problem was that Hidden Pond Tree Farm didn’t have website – at all.

So we worked with Chris on the next logical step – which was to build a business blog for Hidden Pond Tree Farm. Luckily, this solution came just in time, as Chris was being overwhelmed with excited callers looking for directions to his farm and pressing for lots more information.

Directing farm customers right to the website made Chris’ life much easier, his customer communications more efficient and reduced the amount of administrative time spent on phone calls.
